Mr. William C. “Bill” Roberts, SR., 84, of Dalton, passed away, Thursday, January 10, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII and the Korean War and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Irene Massingill Roberts of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. William C. Roberts, Jr. and Jane of Calhoun, Ronnie and Barbara Roberts of Calhoun, Tony and Jackie Collins of Nebo, NC.; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Cunningham of Dalton, Patsy Howard of Chats worth, Betty Burns of Dutton, AL., Diane and Mark Howard of Dalton and Carolyn Miranda of Chatsworth; sister, Betty Sue Coker of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Raymond and Mary Roberts of Dalton; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Cofield and the Rev. George Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow in Gordy Memorial Cemetery with American Legion Post # 112 in charge of graveside rights.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday after 5 P.M.
