Mrs. Jessie Owenby Cearley, 100, of Dalton, passed away, Wednesday, January 16, 2008.
She was the daughter of the late Ira and Carrie Anderson Owenby and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. “Bob’ Cearley; brother, Glenn Owenby; grandson, Garry Barton; sister, Willie Owenby Hyatt; step-mother, Pearl Owenby and daughter-in-law, Sue Henry Cearley.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church #2 in Fannin County.
Jessie is survived by her daughter, Elaine Barton of Dalton; son, A. G. Cearley of Dalton; grandchildren, Glenda Cearley Sosebee and Terry of Monroe, Ga., Alan Cearley of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, J. C. and Delores Owenby of Culberson, N.C.; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, T. J. and Gina Cearley of Chatsworth, Ruth Owenby of Culberson, N.C., Elizabeth Cearley of Franklin,
N.C.; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Services will be Saturday at 10 A.M. from the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. George Ross and the Rev. Brad Bailey officiating, there will also be a service in Fannin County at 2 P.M. on Saturday from the Friendship Baptist Church with the body lying in state from 1 to 2 P.M.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Joseph Owenby, Clifford Cearley, Don Downer, Emerson Longwell, Terry Sosebee and Alan Cearley serving as pallbearers and Johnny Cearley, Jerry Owenby and Bill Collin as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 9 P.M.
