Joan Joiner Robinson, age 78, passed away on November 17, 2012 at Regency Park Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Foster E. Joiner, Sr., and Thelma Glass Joiner of Albany, Georgia; and brother Foster E. Joiner, Jr., of Rome, Georgia. She is survived by her husband, Justin M. Robinson, Jr., of Dalton, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Justin M. Robinson III and Donna Harbin Robinson of Germantown, Tennessee; a daughter and son-in-law, Eaddy Robinson Elrod and David Elrod of Dalton, Georgia; and three grandchildren, Tori Robinson and Grace Robinson of Germantown, Tennessee, and Roman Elrod of Dalton, Georgia; and nephews.
She was born in Albany, Georgia, on March 16, 1934, and was graduated from Albany High School in 1952. She attended Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia, and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She was a longtime member of The First United Methodist Church of Dalton, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Whitfield-Murray Historical Society.
The family will receive friends in Dalton at Love Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 20, from 10am to Noon.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 24 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany, Georgia, at 11:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The First United Methodist Church of Dalton, 500 S. Thornton Avenue, Dalton, Georgia 30720, or The Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church of Albany, 2200 Dawson Road, Albany, Georgia 31707.
