Mr. Cecil Brown Cole, 79, of Mitchell Bridge Road, Dalton, passed away, Sunday afternoon at 4 P.M. at his residence, surrounded by his devoted family. He would have celebrated his 80 th birthday on January 25. Cecil was a kind, loving, caring and wonderful husband, Dad, Paw, brother, uncle and friend.
Cecil was on the 18 th hole in life and “Eagled” his way to glory to be with family and friends gone on before. There will be no more bogeys here on earth.
He was the son of the late Frank L. and Pearl Presley Cole and was preceded in death by his sisters, Lela Dunn and Ethel England; brothers, Wilburn, Troy, Jim, Earnest, Paul and Donald Cole; son-in-law, Emmett Parsons and grandson, Marcus Alan Parsons; He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Dawnville and served in the U. S. Army, stationed in the Philippines, during
W. W. II.
Cecil is survived by his loving wife, Annie Ruth Pulliam, with whom he celebrated their 60 th wedding anniversary on November 21; his daughters and son-in-law, Margaret Parsons, Betty and Bobby Nix all of Dalton and his son, Cecil Charles Cole of Dalton; grandchildren and spouses, Amy and Lt. Col. Chris Marcus of Wichita Falls, TX., Carrie and Terry Smith of Dalton, Greg and Cassie Parsons of Jackson, TN., Corey Cole and Jessica Jackson of Ft. Payne, AL. and Nick Cole of Dalton; great-grandchildren, Austin Marcus and Ady Marcus, Caleb Smith, Grace Ann Smith and Jacob Smith, Marcus Parsons and Luke Parsons; brothers and sisters-in-law, Denton and Pat Cole of Dalton, F. L. Cole of Detroit, MI., Louise Cole, Tina Cole, Carolyn Cole Brackett and Dot Cole Hall; sister and brother-in-law, Ozella and Rex Witherow of Dalton.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 P. M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. James Boyd, Smith Foster and Greg Parsons officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery with nephews, Gary Cole, Lawrence Cole, David Cole, Steve Cole, Larry England and special great-nephew, Michael Cole serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford McCurdy, Bob Campbell, Oscar O’Bryant, George Clark and Ricky Williams.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Tuesday after 5 P. M.
