Mrs. Gladys Stephens Sloan, 89, of Dalton passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Lewis Finley and Viola Bennett Stephens and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Sloan; brothers, Bill Stevens, Len Stephens, Edmund Stephens and a grandson, Mitchell Ryan Lankford.
Gladys was retired from Sears after 20 years. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her son, James “Jimmy” Hamilton of Florida; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Craig Webb of Dacula, Ga. and Carol and Randy Lankford of Ringgold; grandchildren, Brittany Hayes, Rebecca and Nathan Jones and Stephen Lankford; great-granddaughter, Madyson Ryan Hayes; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. David Havice officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 9 P.M.
