Mrs. Rose Alice Kerr Jordan, 90, of Dalton died September 12, 2005, peacefully in her home in Dalton, Ga.
Born in Quebec Canada, She moved to Dalton when she married her first husband, George S. Kerr; who she survived, and her second husband Edwin Jordan. She owned and designed fro the “Kate Rice Hat Shop” located in the former Cannons department store. Once retired, she became an artist and won many awards for her paintings and sculptures.
She is survived by her son, George S. Kerr MD and daughter-in-law, Joanne Kerry of Dalton and her daughter, Kay Carolyn Kerr Klemm and son-in-law Max Klemm Summerville, South Carolina.
Eight Grandchildren, Kay Lynn Davies, Kristie Kerr, Karen Townsend, Kimberly Griffin, and Alisan Zock of Dalton, Kathie Kerr of Atlanta, Craig Klemm of Charleston, SC., Max Klemm, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL.
Eleven Great-Grandchildren, Liam and Emily Rose Davis, Joanna and Kerr Griffin, Taylor, Tessa and Trey Townsend, Paul, Rosalynn, Gregory and Eric Zock all of Dalton. She has two surviving sisters, Annette Grenier Dutram of Marlboro, Massachusetts and Mother Superior Jean Grenier of Montreal, Canada and the late Emile Grenier of Cherry Valley Massachusetts.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 3 P.M. from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Entombment will follow in the Richardson Cemetery.
