Lewis Poe

Mr. Lewis J. Poe, 96, of Chatsworth and formerly of the Dawnville community,
passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at his daughters home in Dalton.
He was the son of the late, Homer and Hulda Peyton Poe and was preceded in death by his wives, Ruth Lawson Poe and Ruby Turner Rollins Poe; brothers, Oscar Poe, Bill Poe, Idus Poe, Sr., Herbert Poe and Benson Poe; sister, Nadine Poe Morgan; grandchildren, Gatha Brown, Hope Brown, Mike Purvis and Alan Campbell.
He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Lewis is survived by his children and their spouses, Eulene Talley, Marie and Rev. Tommy Brown all of Dalton, Sandra and Dr. Douglas Ellis of Chatsworth, Lucille Rollins McCaleb of Dalton, Waunita (Rollins) and Ed Babb of Chatsworth, Willena (Rollins) and Moses Ballew of Cleveland, TN., Robert Rollins of Ellijay and Wayne and Leota Rollins of Mableton, Ga.; sisters, Qutene Millsap and Ilene Troy Teasley both of Crandall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Hazel Poe, Donald and Evelyn Poe all of Dalton; brother-in-law, Glenn Morgan of Dalton; special friend, Tracy Howard; 31 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 62 great-great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 3:30 P.M. from the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. James Boyd and Dr. Roy Daniels officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Alan Talley, Michael Brown, Eric Ellis, Ron Rollins, Bill McCaleb and Sam Young serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 9 P.M.
