Mrs. Irene Massingill Roberts, 81, of Dalton, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 in the Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.
She was the daughter of the late Dolph and Minnie Dean Massingill and was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Roberts, Sr.; daughters, Brenda Collins and Edna Harper; grandson, Lamar Bennett and her brothers and sisters.
Irene is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Mary Cunningham of Dalton, Patsy Howard of Chatsworth, Betty Burns of Dutton, AL., Dianne and Mark Howard of Dalton and Carolyn Miranda of Chatsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Jackie Collins of Nebo, N. C., Rev. William “Oogie” Roberts and Jane, Ronnie and Barbara Roberts all of Calhoun, GA.; sisters-in-law, Edith Massingill of Ringgold, GA. and Betty Coker of Dalton; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be Thursday at 11 A. M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Cofield and the Rev. George Nicholson officiating.
Burial will be in the Gordy Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Tuesday after 4 P. M. and will continue to receive friends until the funeral hour.
