Caroline L. Ryman

Mrs. Caroline Louanna Ryman, 73, of Dalton passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was born April 19, 1939, daughter to the late Milton J. Ryman and Martha Walker Ryman and was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Caroline L. Walker of Humboldt, TN; paternal grandparents, Lewis R. Ryman and Gertrude Sanders Ryman of Nashville, TN.
Caroline attended Dalton Public Schools and studied voice under Mrs. Wolfe at Cadek Conservatory of Music in Chattanooga for 4 years. She attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur and was also a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Dalton First United Methodist Church, where she also sang in the choir. She brought song and beauty to people through her voice and her “Joyful Noise” was a ministry to others.
Caroline is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Armin and Karen Maier of Mill Valley, CA. and John Ryman Maier of Dalton; granddaughter, Georgia Marie Maier of Mill Valley, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Milton J. Ryman, Jr. and Mary Ryman; nieces and nephews, Marti Ryman Pierce and Gerald Pierce of Ft. Myers, FL, Maribeth Ryman Brown and Bo Brown of Atlanta, Rebecca Ryman Langford and John Langford of Saudi Arabia and Chattanooga; 10 great nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11 A.M. at St. Marks Episcopal Church with the Rev. Patricia Grace officiating.
The family will receive friends in the parrish hall of the church from 10 to 11 A.M. on Saturday.
The family ask that flowers please be omitted and memorials be made to the St. Marks Episcopal Church, 901 W. Emery St., Dalton, Ga. 30721 or to one’s favorite charity.
