Mr. Paul Howard Chance, 83, of Dalton, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was the son of the late, Albert P. Chance, Sr. and Nannie Gresham Chance and was preceded in death by his first wife, Imogene Graves Chance; brothers, Albert, Jr., Virgil, Randall and Harlie; sisters, Kellie, Lillie and Elvetta.
Paul proudly served his country, serving in W W II and the Korean Conflict. He was an outdoorsman and was an avid hunter. He completed a Grand Slam in North America Big Horn Sheep; was a member of the Grand Slam Club and the Foundation for the North America Big Horn Sheep.
He moved to Dalton (from Atlanta) in the 1960’s as part owner of Crown Tuft Carpet and later Delta Finishers . He was a member of the Dalton First United Methodist Church and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Paul is survived by his wife, Vivian Sutton Chance of Dalton; son, Wes Chance of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Richard Stewart of Oxford, GA.; nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be Friday at 11 A. M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Dr. Joe Peabody and the Rev. Billy Beard officiating.
Burial will be in the West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Thursday from 5
to 8 P. M.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Dalton -Whitfield Habitat for Humanity, P. O. Box 2477, Dalton, GA. 30722-2477.
