Romye Walraven

Romye Eleanor Walraven, age 98, went to heaven Thursday, March 14, 2013. She was a life long resident of Whitfield County, with her family being here for many generations. She attended and was a member of Five Springs United Methodist Church for most of her life, serving in many positions within the church. As a first grader, she attended Five Springs school before moving into Dalton. She was employed in the Chenille industry and Belk-Gallant for many years while rearing a family of three boys. She was a long time member of the Busy Bee club and enjoyed all her activities there.
Mrs. Walraven was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Willie (Johns) Clark of Dalton; husband, W. Caldwell Walraven; son, Dr. Wesley Clifton Walraven; and brother, Dallas C. Clark, Sr.
Mrs. Walraven is survived by her two sons, James Clark Walraven of Dalton and Wesley Caldwell Walraven, Jr., of Cumming, Ga.; Daughter-in-laws Linda L. Walraven of Rome, Pat L. Walraven of Dalton, and Linda L. Walraven of Cumming; Six grandchildren and families, Wesley Clifton Walraven, Jr., Brian Moore and Starr E Helton of Rome, Valerie and Kurtis Ross and Cynthia and Patrick Ripley both of Cumming, Lucrisha and Mark Sheram and Kelley and A.J. Johnston of Dalton. Also surviving is her brother, James L Clark, and sister in laws Betty Ann Clark and Lucy Clark, all of Dalton.
Ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive.
Services for Mrs. Walraven will be at 2pm Saturday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Ann Fleming officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
