Mrs. Virginia Anderson Cummings, 85, of Dalton passed away Saturday March 23, 2013 at her residence.
She was born January 14, 1928, daughter of the late Robert G. Anderson and Sara F. Anderson and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Cummings, Sr. and grandson, Mitch Cummings.
Virginia graduated from Tunnel Hill School and Heiron School of Business in 1946. She went to work at Hamilton Memorial Hospital getting her nurse license and worked for 44 years at the same hospital. She retired in 1993 and after retiring she worked for Whitfield Staffing and Dr. Bates Bailey cardiologist.
Virginia is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Cummings, Jr. and Robert W. “Bobby” and Liz Cummings; grandsons, Greg Cummings, Kevin Cummings, Chris Cummings and Trent Cummings; granddaughters, Cassie Cummings and Lacey DeDios; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Luanne Anderson, and Don and Sandy Anderson; sisters and brother-in-law, Doris Esquival and Judy and Fielding Fetzer; special friends and neighbors, Carole and Don Stuart of Dalton; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McPherson and Carole Stuart officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 pm until 9 pm.
At Virginia’s request, in lieu of flowers memorials are to be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 W. Emery St, Suite 3, Dalton, Ga. 30720.
