James Mercer

Mr. James E. Mercer, 82, of Rocky Face, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ida Jane Bryant Mercer on February 9, 2013.
James is survived by his sons, James Harry “Nick” Mercer of Dalton, Gary Lee Mercer and Barry Eugene Mercer both of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Rebecca Anne Mercer, Nick Elijah Mercer and Noah Arron Mercer; special friends, Mickey Corum, Trista Corum, Norma Jackson and Kimberly Jane Layne.
Services will be Saturday at 11 A.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 W. Emery St., Suite 3, Dalton, Ga. 30720.
