Anna Sue Shaw, 79, of Rocky Face died at home on Tuesday May 7, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.
Born on October 21, 1933 in Rome, Georgia, Anna Sue was the first daughter of Owen Lee and Evelyn Lewis Hadaway. She was preceded in death by her beloved younger sister Virginia Lee Hardy.
Anna Sue graduated from Rome High School and later attended Shorter College where she studied voice. She married Bob Shaw and moved to Dalton to in 1958, where she quickly made many good and loyal friends. Anna Sue is the mother of four children, a daughter Susan Young, and three sons, Robert E. Shaw Jr., Thomas Tripp Shaw and Lewis Clayton Shaw. Her first love was her husband and being a mother. She gave her full support to her beloved Bob in every endeavor, as did he in support of her passion for making our world more beautiful. An elegant lady, funny with a dry sense of humor, Anna Sue leaves her footprints all over our lives, from Dalton and Rocky Face to North and South Carolina and now in heaven with our Lord.
In addition to her husband, four children and their spouses, Anna Sue is survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday May 9, 2013 from 10 AM until 12 Noon at ChristChurch Presbyterian , 510 South Tibbs Road in Dalton, GA, with services immediately following in the Sanctuary at 12 Noon with Pastor Mickey Shealy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 W. Emery St., Suite 3, Dalton, Ga. 30720.
