Dr. Paul Lewis Bradley, 92, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, May 9, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Crisp and Dorothy Bradley, his wife, Ann Quinlan Bradley, and his son, Richard “Dick” Crisp Bradley.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in law Patricia and William Edwards of Dalton, Lynn and Randy Evans of Jacksonville, Fl; son and daughter-in-law
Paul and Barbara Bradley of Varnell; special nephew George Mathews and wife Christine of Morristown, TN; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was born in Kingston, GA on June 13, 1920. He graduated from Dalton High school in 1936 and received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Emory University in 1943. He served in the US Army Medical Corps as a Captain from 1945-1947. He returned to Dalton in 1949 where he practiced medicine as both a general practice physician and general surgeon until 1987. He served on the Whitfield Healthcare Foundation and received the Wescott Fellow of Distinction and the Humanitarian awards. In 1986, the Bradley Wellness Center was named in his honor. He was active in the community and served on several community boards.
Memorial services will be Sunday at 3 P.M. at the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with the family receiving friends in the Parrish Hall immediately following the service.
