Mrs. Myrtle King Tyvand, 77, of Dalton died Friday October 14, 2005 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Tyvand, Sr. in 1989.
For many of her early years, Myrtle taught school for the Defence Department while overseas. After moving to Dalton, she became very active in volunteer work in many organizations especially the Friendship House.
Myrtle is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Courtney & Jill Tyvand of Ooltewah, Tn. and Thomas H. Tyvand, Jr. and his fiancé Connie Thomison of Dalton.
One grandson, Tyler Scott Tyvand of Dalton and one step-grandson, Garrett Mitchell of Ooltewah.
Nieces, nephews and many dear friends also survive.
The family will have a private graveside service at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 until 7 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to the Friendship House, 1300 S. Hamilton St. Dalton, GA. 30720
