Mrs. Lorain Johnson Webb, 87, of Dalton passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was born in Akron, Ohio on April 6, 1926, daughter to the late Wyatt Johnson and Annie Effie Patterson Johnson and was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles William Webb; sister, Florine Johnson and brother, Nuel Smith.
Lorain graduated from Valley Point High School and was an accomplished artist and teacher in the states and Europe, also teaching art with the Dalton Public School System.
She was a member and director with the North Georgia Fair Association for 30 years and also a member of the Dalton First Baptist Church for 50 years. She was a wonderful military wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and neighbor.
Lorain is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Lynn and Harold Loghry, Sr. of Dalton; granddaughter, Meghan Lorain Wells of Dalton; great-grandson, Jackson Ray Wells of Dalton; brothers, Ralph Johnson of Shelbyville, TN and Colbert Johnson of Eden, NC; sisters, Rewanda Arthur of Cohutta and Ruby Faye Brindle of Ooltewah, TN; nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be Saturday, May 25th at 2 P.M. in the chapel of the Dalton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Flanagan and the Rev. Mark Amspaugh officiating.
The family will receive friends in the atrium of the church on Saturday the 25th from noon to 2 P.M.
The family ask that flowers please be omitted and memorials may be made to the Dalton First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 827, Dalton, Ga. 30722.
