Mr. Tommy Grady Young, 85, of Dalton, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013. He was the son of the late, James “Pete” and Hugh Fox Young and was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Hayes Young; sisters, Fannie Ingle and Dorothy Young; brothers, Walter Young and Charlie Young. Tommy was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War. For 60 plus years he was in the service station business and in 1968 he became co-owner of Walnut Ave. B.P. He is survived by his daughter Beverly Young of Dalton and Gary "Gabby" Cox of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Maynard and Edna Young of Chatsworth; sister, Jennie Carder of Atlanta; nieces and nephews.; special caregiver Connie Thomison. The family would like to say a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Amedisys Hospice. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Chuck Harris officiating. Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to one’s favorite charity.
