Betty Irene Winter

Betty Irene Foresman Winter, 91, passed away on July 24, 2013 at her residence at Royal Oaks in Dalton. She was born on May 18, 1922 in Plainfield, NJ to the late Robert Eugene and Sara Belle Foresman. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She truly loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her life was a continual testament to her faith.
Her husband, Robert S. Winter, whom she married on April 6, 1944 in Williamsport, PA, predeceased her in 2005 after nearly 61 years of marriage. Her husband spent his life working in the architectural and woodworking business.
After moving to Singer Island, Florida in 1966 she enjoyed a fulfilling career as Executive Assistant to John H. Perry, Jr., publisher and research entrepreneur, for 26 years until her retirement in 1996. She moved to Dalton in 2005.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Schrader, Jr. and Vicki Lee Winter of Newtown Square, PA; Larry Eugene and Constance Dianne Winter of Dalton, GA; Kenneth Albert and LaVonne Marie Winter of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Rob, Michael, Rebecca, John, Matthew, Noel, Jim, Justin, and Lorél; great-grandchildren, Kiara, Nicholas, Eric, Audrey, Jimmy, and Sara; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Betty Winter will be held in the chapel of Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton on Saturday August 3, 2013 at 2:00pm with her son the Reverend Kenneth Winter officiating. The family will receive friends at Love’s prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport, PA.
The family requests that flowers not be sent, but rather that donations in her memory be made to The International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, 3806 Monument Ave., Richmond, Virginia, 23230.
