Dorothy Segars

Mrs. Dorothy Ledford Segars, 81, of Rocky Face, passed away Friday August 9, 2013 at Life Care Center in East Ridge, TN.
She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Armetta Gay Ledford and was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Segars and a brother, Robert “Speedy” Ledford.
Dorothy was a longtime member of Rocky Face Baptist Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (Jenny) Segars Dewitt and Terry of Ringgold; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley Eugene and Rose Johnson Segars of Clearwater, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Jessie “Buddy” and Frances Ledford of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Lottie Caylor and Jeanette and Billy Croy all of Dalton; grandson, Terrance “Rance” Lee Dewitt, II of Baton Rouge, LA, Kurtis Robert Eugene (Emily) Segars of Kennesaw, GA, Robert Eric Dewitt of Nashville, Andrew Jay Segars of Rocky Face, Anthony Craig Segars of Clovis, NM, Cory John Martin Segars of Dalton; great-grandson, Robert Eugene “Gene” Segars; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Charlotte Segars of Rome, GA, Mary Michael of Rocky Face, Bud and Eva Segars of Dallas, TX, Betty Gregory of Tunnel HIll, Charles and Krista Segars of Germany, Kathy and Jimmy Teasley of Dalton; nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say thank you to the nurses and staff of Life Care Center, and a special thank you to Keisha, Kim and Marlene for their loving care shown to Dorothy.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Rocky Face Baptist Church with the Rev. Van Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Dunagan Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Rocky Face Baptist Church on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
