Mr. William (Bill) Edward Nysewander, 67, of Dalton passed away Thursday evening, August 15, 2013 in Florida with his family by his side. Born October 9, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the son of the late Cecil W. and Elizabeth B. Nysewander. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beth A. Nysewander, his brother and sister-in-law, Richard W. Nysewander and Cheryl T. Nysewander, and sister, Patricia J. Nysewander.
A graduate of the University of Virginia, Bill met and married Beth in Indiana and they moved to Dalton in 1971 where he worked for STAR Finishing Company which eventually became Shaw Industries. He was a dedicated member of the Kiwanis Club and enjoyed cooking sausage for Pancake Day for many years. He retired from Shaw Industries in 2009 to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Anthony Rakis of Alexandria, Virginia, Margaret Nysewander and Tod Lawrence of Atlanta, Georgia, Alison and Buzz Wester of Parrish, Florida; daughter and daughter-in-law; Melissa and Shelly Nysewander of Durham, North Carolina; grandchildren Elizabeth-Laura (Lexi) Rakis, Sophia Evangelina  Rakis, Nicholas William Rakis, Sarabeth Margaret Wester and Henry Armstrong Nysewander; and stepmother Clara Nysewander of Savannah, Georgia. The family extends special thanks to Tidewell Hospice and Perfect Solutions for Seniors for the loving care they provided.
Services will be Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home, Pastor Alfred Turley officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 12pm to 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the William E. and Beth A.
