Mrs. Lillian Beall Hollis, 81, of Dalton passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born on December 7, 1931 in Atlanta, GA and attended North Fulton High School and Agnes Scott College.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dalton where she served as an elder and in many other roles including church hostess and wedding director. She also served on the Board of Trustees at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Neely “Mack” McFadden Hollis in 2010.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Mac Lumpkin and Lucy Rose of Wintergreen, VA, Berrien and Mickey Long of Rocky Face, Pete and Debbie Lumpkin of Calhoun, and Alice and Doug Ensley of Dalton; step-children, Neel and Cheryl Hollis, Kathy James and Susan Moore all of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Collier Lumpkin, Kate Lumpkin, Jo Beth and Chad Thompson, Lilly and John Douglas, Mimi Ensley, Emma Ensley, Justin Schayer, Hollis and Jonathan Nichols, Anne and Drane Oliphant, Neely and John Allen, Stuart Moore, Elizabeth and Josh Boltinhouse, Mack Hollis, Brandon James and William James; great-grandchildren, Libba Thompson, Mary Lois Thompson, Mari Mack Boltinhouse and Anne Steele Oliphant; special friends, Dr. Murray and Carol Lumpkin of Dalton.
A service of worship and celebration will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Dalton (in their temporary location at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 300 S. Tibbs Rd, Dalton) with the Rev. Cynthia Parr officiating.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 7 P.M.
The family asks that flowers please be omitted and that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Dalton, P.O. Box 489, Dalton, Ga. 30722-0489.
