Roy Gene Bishop

Mr. Roy Gene Bishop, 74, of Dalton, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at his residence.
He was the son of the late, Roy and Mary Trammell Bishop and was preceded in death by his son, Alfred Saylor; daughter, Betty Jo Dunn; sister, Marie Bishop and brothers, Oscar Bishop and R. L. Bishop.
Roy loved to play his guitar and sing and he was in the first band to play at a Fort Hill School Dance.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Dalton Bishop of Dalton; children and their spouses, Mavis and Ron Vaudt of Huntsville, TX.; Shirley and John Campbell of Ringgold, Sonia and Tony Shuler, Joyce and Donald Flowers, Charlie Ray Saylor, Teresa Bishop and Joseph Lloyd Saylor all of Dalton; sisters, Katherine Kidd of Crossville, AL., Ruth Britton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; grandchildren, Michael Howell, Zoe Secord and Leigha Petty; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 9 P.M.
