Edith Parker

May 26, 1926 — October 1, 2013

With great sadness we announce the passing of our mother Edith Stanley Parker, 87, of Dalton on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, we’ve no doubt that this incredible lady is present with her Lord and Savior.
She was the daughter of the late James and Bertha Stanley and was preceded in death by her husband, Glen L. “Red” Parker; sisters, Bertie Stanley, Lou Greeson, Maudie Favors and brother, James Richard Stanley.
Edith was a lifelong member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly.
She willingly served her church and family throughout her lifetime. She was the epitome of a christian and will be remembered for her kindness and awesome, beautiful, caring, elegant, hardworking, untiring and loving woman not only by her family but by everyone who was blessed to know her. Our hearts are broken for the loss of our precious mother, grandmother and devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She leaves behind the cares and pains of this life and her daughters, Jeannie Habermehl and Barbara Charter both of Dalton; grandson, Brian Habermehl; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Habermehl, Zacary Habermehl, Dustin Habermehl and Jake Watson; brother, Paul Stanley; several special nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 P.M. at the Church of God of the Union Assembly with the Rev. Trey Starnes and the Rev. Denny Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M.
