Mr. Thomas W. Sloane, 80, of Dalton, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was the son of the late, Colbert and Ethel Mullinax Sloane and was preceded in death by his step-father, Earl Sables.
Thomas was retired from the United Stares Army, having served during the Korean Conflict and was retired from the City of Dalton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Alma Gulledge Sloane of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Diana Josko of Florida, David Sloane and Eric Sloane both of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Terry Allen, Qudie Cline, Selina and Mike Cowan, Lora and Nathan Herriman all of Dalton; Grandchildren, Diana and Dean Morgan, Jimmy Josko, David “D.T.” Sloane, Crystal and James Stepp, Jessica and Bobby Williams, Victoria Allen, Olivia Allen, Chelsey Cline, Logan Cline, Zachary Lama, Hunter Lama, Brooke and Michael Cochran, Hollie Cash, Nathan Herriman, Andrew Herriman; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Clayton Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens with the United States Army Honor Guard in charge of graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 9 P.M.
