Dana Hawkins

Mr. Dana P. Hawkins, 84, of Dalton passed on Monday, November 11, 2013 at his residence.
He was a graduate of Dalton High School and the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and was a member of Dalton Golf and Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a lifetime member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and was retired from Dalton Sheet Metal.
He was the son of the late C. Frank and Marion Ulmer Hawkins and was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Feild and brother, C. Frank “Bud” Hawkins.
Dana is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn Dempsey Hawkins of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Brent and Gina of Orlando, FL, Tim and Amanda of Dalton, Kevin and Carol of Benton, TN; grandchildren, Marion, Charlie, Taylor, Merrily and Davis; great-grandchild, Isla; niece and nephews also survive.
Memorial service will be Thursday at 1 P.M. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Louis Tonsmeire officiating.
The family will receive friends in the parrish hall prior to the service on Thursday
from 11 to 1 P.M.
The family asks that flowers please be omitted and memorials may be made to the St. Mark’s Preschool, 901 W. Emery St, Dalton, Ga. 30720 or to the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia, 1703 Cleveland Hwy, Dalton, Ga. 30720.
