Mr. William A. “W. A.” Cook, 78, of Dalton passed away on Saturday November 16, 2013 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Homer Lee and Edna Spence Cook and was preceded in death his sisters, Eunice Souther, Lois Cargel, Hazel Gentry, Fornadia Cook and Annie Laura Stanley; brothers, Horace Cook, Noel Cook and Norman Lee Cook Sr.
William was member of Center Point Baptist Church and was a graduate of Valley Point High School. He worked in the local textile mills and he attended North Georgia Trade School, where he learned how to do woodwork.
He is survived by his sisters, Betty Sue Cook of Dalton and Marguerite Bowman of Calhoun; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff and nurses of Regency Park for their love and compassion for William.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Futch, the Rev. George Ross and the Rev. Steve Miller officiating.
Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 7 P.M.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Center Point Baptist Church, 416 Center Point Dr. S.E., Dalton, Ga. 30721.
