Barbara Jean Stansell

Barbara Jean Ramsey Stansell passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 15, 2013. She was born April 17, 1931, in Dalton, Georgia, to Grady and Mamie Ramsey. She is survived by her son William, daughter Teresa, son Gerry (Judy), six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Kenneth Ramsey of Dalton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William G., who passed away in 2009 and her brother E.W. Ramsey.
Bill and Barbara were married December 25, 1951, and moved to Aiken, South Carolina, then to Kingston, Tennessee; Baltimore, Maryland; Ridgeley, West Virginia; and then to Irwin, Pennsylvania in 1959 and lived there for 24 years. They then moved to August, Georgia, and lived there for seven years and retired to Pine Island, Florida in 1990, where they had had a home for many years.
She was a member of Eastern Star of Irwin, Pennsylvania. She was also a member of Pine Island United Methodist Church for many years.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
