Mr. Robert “Bob” M. Kelly, 79, of Dalton, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Regency Park Health and Rehabilitation.
He was the son of the late Henry and Ola Kelly of Texas.
Bob moved to Dalton in 1980. He worked in the logistics field at the Coca-Cola Company and at other companies within the carpet industry until his retirement. Bob was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dalton where he looked forward to greeting fellow church members and guests on Sunday mornings. He was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, and had a life-long love of trains and Coca-Cola memorabilia. Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who affectionately knew him as “Papa Bob.”
He is survived by his wife, Ann Campbell Kelly of Dalton; son, Michael Love Kelly of Houston, Texas; daughter, Karen Lea Kelly of Houston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Jill Lindsay Manley and James B. Manley, Jr. of Johns Creek, Georgia; grandchildren, Mary Ann Manley and James B. Manley III of Johns Creek; sister, Pat Gandy of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gregg and Jina Campbell of Cohutta, Georgia; and nieces, Tiffany M. Campbell of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Lauren Campbell of Corona del Mar, California.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the atrium of First Baptist Church. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Dr. Bill Ireland, Rev. Phillip Cannon, and Rev. Courtney Allen officiating.
