Charles Dunford

Mr. Charles Richard Dunford, 80, of Dalton and formerly of Lafayette, GA., died Monday, June 9, 2008 at his residence.
He was the son of the late, Charles Walter and Margaret Sutton Dunford.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had a distinguished career in the transportation industry for 40 years; was a member of the Alhambra Shrines Temple in Chattanooga, TN. and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lafayette.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Margie Stanfield Dunford of Dalton; son, Richard Dunford of Rocky Face.
Services will be Thursday at 11 A.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Dr. Todd Gaddis officiating.
Burial will follow in Lafayette Memory Gardens in Lafayette, Ga.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 300 W. Emery St., Suite 106, Dalton, Ga. 30720 or to the American Heart Association, 519 E. 4th St., Chattanooga, Tn. 37403.
