Mr. Zachary Samuel Norville, 85, of Dalton passed away Sunday, December 08, after a lengthy illness. The founder of Norville Industries, Norville was one of the early pioneers in what grew to become the tufted textile industry.
Born in Arcadia, Florida, Zack Norville was the son of the late Zachary Norville, Sr. and Hallie McRee Norville. He was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Fogarty and his former wife, Merle O. Norville.
A graduate of Georgia Tech, Norville is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rita Norville as well as his daughters and sons-in-laws, Nancy N. and Joe Hallsworth of Dalton, Deborah Norville and Karl Wellner of New York City, Cathy N. and Phil Amos and Patricia N. and Mike Silvers of Ringgold, and a step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Bryan and Maria Grizzell of Atlanta. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Brooke Bernhardt, Lisa Hughes, and Beth Senkbeil; Nick, Kyle, and Mikaela Wellner; Zachary and Christina Amos; Stephanie and Mitchell Silvers; Hope Hallsworth, and Gavin Grizzell as well as three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive condolences from friends Wednesday at Love Funeral Home from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Norville will be held Thursday at 10am at First United Methodist Church in Dalton, where he was a long time member. Interment will be at the Norville Family Cemetery in Watkinsville, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Dalton First United Methodist Church, 500 S. Thornton Ave, Dalton, Ga. 30720.
