Mrs. Carolyn Doyle Couch, 70, of Dalton passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013
at Emory Hospital.
She was born in Shellmound Tennessee and grew up in Jasper. The daughter of a hardworking farmer and school teacher she had a wonderful childhood.
She Graduated from South Pittsburgh High School, Middle Tennessee State College and received a Master’s in Education from West Georgia College and Educational Specialist Degree from Berry College in Rome. She married Ellis “Butch” Couch in 1970 and moved to Dalton in 1973. She would teach Kindergarten in the Dalton Public Schools for over 30 years. She was widowed at the age 43 and raised two boys by herself.
She was a wonderful and selfless Mother. And later became a perfect Nana to her grandchildren. She always put her boys first. A kind and generous woman she always tried to help people as best she could. She loved her friends and all the children she taught through the years. She also loved animals and volunteered at the Dalton Animal Shelter. She was as close to an angel on earth as one could imagine.
She will be missed terribly but there will be no more suffering. She is happy again finally reunited with Butch the love of her life and her Mama and Daddy. She was preceded in death by her father and mother James and Vera Doyle of Jasper Tennessee and her husband Ellis Einsel Couch III of Dalton.
She is survived by her son James and daughter-in-law Betsy Couch and two grandchildren Ellis Einsel Couch IV and James Henry Couch of Marietta and her other son Sam and daughter-in-law Brandi Couch of Marion Ill.
Memorial service will be Friday at 1 P.M. at ChristChurch Presbyterian with Dr. Mickey Shealy officiating.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church on Friday
from 11 to 1 P.M.
