Mrs. Vivian Shoates, 83, of Dalton passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Sam and Beulah Groves Burchfield and was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Shoates in 1964; daughter, Donna Shoates Pangle and brother, Roy Burchfield.
Vivian is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Gloria Shoates, Randy and Valerie Shoates all of Dalton; grandchildren, Summer (Ryan) Shoates King, Sanna (Lee) Shoates Danley, Schylar Shoates, Sawyer Shoates, Nathan Ellis, Shannon (Bryan) Talley, Maranda (Lane) Shoates Hall and Mandy (Dusty) Shoates Parker; great-grandchildren, Triston Ledford, Alyssa Talley, Brett Talley, Mikenley King, Miklayne King, Mary Elizabeth King, Davis Parker and Asher Parker; brother, Bob (Teresa) Burchfield of Chatsworth; sister-in-law, Sara Jude Burchfield of Dalton; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewey Fleming officiating.
Burial will follow in Dug Gap Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:30 to 3 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to the St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
