Mrs. Betty Cook Stinnett, 64, of Rocky Face, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late, Claude and Ida Kinsey Cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Stinnett and her brothers and sister. Betty was a nurse in the Emergency Room at Hamilton Medical Center for 30 plus years. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Heath Ewton of Rocky Face and Stacey and Lamont Smith of Ringgold; grandchildren, Victoria Smith, Lorelei Ewton, Tucker Ewton, Haleigh Smith and Garrett Ewton; brother and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Betty June Cook and Ervin Cook, Shirley Talley , Sandra Cook and Nella Ruth Cook all of Rocky Face; nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held noon Monday in the Chapel of Love funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Gentry and the Rev. David Pangle officiating. The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 11 a.m. till the service at noon. The family ask that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to St. Mark’s preschool, 901 W. Thornton Ave., Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.
