Charles Bowen

Mr. Charles E. Bowen, 100, of Dalton passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Urban and Mattie Jane Bolding Bowen and was preceded in death by his sweet wife of 67 years, Irene Cooper Bowen; sisters, Katherine Bowen, Mary Lou Bowen Alexander, Pauline Bowen Payne and his brother, Edward Bowen.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Peggy Bowen Green of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Charles and Claire Bowen of Acworth, Ga; grandchildren, Joanie and Matt Dufek of Tallahassee, FL, Tracy and Adam Lovelady of Chapel Hill, NC, Chuck and Desiree Bowen of Tallahassee, FL, Benjamin Bowen of Huntington Beach, CA, Michael and Lisa Bowen of Sunderland, MA, and Kittye and Miles Parker of Tallahassee, FL; great-grandchildren, Anna McLean, Natalie Bowen, Chase Bowen, Charlotte Bowen, Carter Lovelady and Ben Lovelady.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Maria Thomas, Lisa Barnett, Karen Gentry, Reena Gayle and Rebecca Sutton for their compassion and love they showed to Mr. Bowen.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 P.M. from the Dalton First Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Ireland, Dr. Billy Nimmons, the Rev. Phillip Cannon and the Rev. Larry Flanagan officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends in the atrium of the church on Sunday from 1 to 3 P.M.
