Joe Leonard Jr.

Mr. Joe Leonard Jr, 84, of Dalton passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Hamilton Medical Center. Joe was born in Dalton, but grew up in Murray County and was the son of the late Joe and Mattie Campbell Leonard and was preceded in death by his brothers, Broad Leonard, J.T. Leonard, Bill Leonard and sisters, Opal Pierce, Agnes East, Ruth Vance and Momma Jo Fowler. Joe was retired from Aladdin Mills and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He is survived by his loving wife, Pearl Wade Leonard of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Joann and Mike Thomas of Lafayette and Janice and Phillip Croy of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, James and Robin Leonard of Sharpsburg, GA; sister, Virginia Davis of Dalton; grandchildren, Dylan and Zana Mixon of Catula, GA, Amber Croy of Dalton, Mallory Leonard and Brittney Leonard of Sharpsburg, Brandon and Amy Clark of Flowery Branch, GA, David and Jenny Thomas, Joshua and Lauren Thomas and Jeremy Thomas all of Dalton; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Marvin Jackson. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Willis and Marvin Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
