John Cross Jr.

Mr. John L. Cross, Jr., 84, of Chatsworth, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2013.

He was the son of the late, John L. Cross, Sr. and Mary Lois Clorer Cross and was preceded in death by his sister, Nattie Sue Cross.

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a veteran of the United States Army.

John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Magdalene Welch Cross of Dalton; children and their spouses, David L. Cross of Dalton, Randy and Glenda Cross of Chatsworth, Debbie and Dewayne Edwards of Dalton and Brenda and Windle Muse of Varnell; grandchildren, Travis (Melissa) Cross, Tina (Jordan) Williams, Matthew Allen, David (Nikki) Peabody, Jr., John Peabody, Joshua Peabody and Gabriel Peabody; 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Brett Yaeger officiating.

Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery with the American Legion in charge of military honors.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.
