Jimmie D. Blackwell

Mr. Jimmie D. Blackwell. 85, of Dalton, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Marvin and Edna Blackwell, his mother Grace Blackwell and a brother.

Jimmie was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of Crown View Baptist Church, loved racing, fly and sharing his margarine cake with family and friends. Jimmie also work for Gideon's.

He is survived by his wife, Ester Fletcher Blackwell of Dalton; half-sister, Glenda Smith of Chatsworth; half-brother, Gene Blackwell of Eton; special friends and neighbors; Clifford and Mary Helen Maney, Cliff and Joyce Wright and Pat and Jimmy Mathis all of Dalton.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Wood officiating.

Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.
