Geneva Martin

Mrs. Geneva Wood Martin, 98, of Dalton, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 in Valdosta, Ga.

She was the daughter of the late, Clifford P. and Florence Love Wood and was preceded in death by her husband, L. M. Martin, JR; daughter, Toby Harriet Martin; sister, Dorothy Rann; brother, C. P. Wood, JR. and a nephew, Preston Rann.

Geneva was in the first graduating class of Westside High School and also graduated from Dalton Business school. Geneva was a member of Dalton First United Methodist Church for many years and a Red Cross Volunteer for 20 years at Dalton Memorial Hospital, now Hamilton Medical Center.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Bill Thomas of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Elaine Martin of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Melanie (Sean) Finnegan, Matthew Thomas and Angela (Tim) Fleming; great grand-grandchildren, Patrick Finnegan, Katie Fleming, Kyle Fleming and Ella Fleming; nephew, Wendell Rann.

Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewey Fleming officiating.

Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 3 p. m. til the funeral hour at 5 p. m.
