Mrs. Doris Mae Melton Sims, 92, went to be with our Lord Jesus Sunday,
May 18, 2014 at home with her family. Doris was preceded in death by
her husband, Cyrace William Sims Sr, parents George and Mae Melton.
and her brothers George and Ralph Melton.
Doris was born in 1922 in Atmore, Alabama and received her teaching
certificate from Florida State College for a Women (now FSU). She
married Cy at the outbreak of WWII and had various postings until they
retired from active duty and moved to Dalton. They were the owners of
the Chrysler/ Plymouth dealership, Sims Motor Company.
Doris was very involved in Christian Women's Club, other Bible Studies
and was a founding member of Fellowship Bible Church. Her commitment
to Christ was most evidenced in her devotion to her family and close
friends.

Doris is survived by her children and spouses Bill and Wimberley Sims,
Randy and Nancy Sims and Sabra and Bill Sparks all of Dalton. Her
grandchildren are Windy Sims Barron (Will) of Rock Hill, SC, Karen
Sims Turner (Henry) of Atlanta, Sims Sparks Little (John) of
Birmingham, AL , Kate Sims of Chattanooga, TN, Mary Mae Sims of
Dalton, and Ensign Andy Sims USN currently of Corpus Christi, TX.,
great grandchildren Mollie and Sidney Barron, Ivy, Austin and Brooks
Turner and soon to arrive Baby Little.

A Memorial service to celebrate the life of Doris Sims will be held at
Grace Presbyterian Church in Dalton at 4 p.m. on Thursday May 22nd.
Family will receive friends from two to four preceding the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fellowship Bible Church
of Dalton and The Jesus Film Project of Campus Crusade for Christ.
