Rose Martin

Mrs. Rose Herndon Martin, 90, of Dalton, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at her residence.
She was born in Whitfield County, daughter of the late, Eugene Oglethorpe and Agnes Hill Herndon and was preceded in death by her brother, John Herndon.
Rose taught first grade at Morris Street School for many years and retired from the Dalton Public School System after 41 years of service. She was a member of the Dalton First Baptist Church where she was an associate organist for 22 years. She was a member of many civic organizations and an avid bird collector.
Rose is survived by her niece and nephews, Becky Jeter of Ringgold, John Herndon of Athens, TX., and Charles Herndon of Atlanta.
Great Nieces, Anne Jeter, Caroline Herndon.
Great Nephews, David Herndon, Daniel Herndon, Chad Jeter, and Zachary Herndon.
Great-Great Nephews, Austin Graham, Drake Jeter and Ravi Jeter.
Services will be Saturday at 10 A.M. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Wilson and the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 7 P.M.
