George Schneider

Mr. George W. Schneider, 82, of Rocky Face, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Trammell and Lela Smith Schneider; mother-in-law, Marie Callahan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Amy Schneider, Ralph and Betty Faye Schneider; brothers-in-law, Jakie Keith and Kenneth Dude Callahan.
George retired as Asst Chief from the Dalton Police Department after 22 years on the force. Graduated from the FBI National Academy and a member of FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. and past member of The Masonic Lodge #105. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
George was the owner of Schneider’s Coin Shop in downtown Dalton.
George is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Polly Callahan Schneider of Rocky Face; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Gary Carlock of Rocky Face and Vicki and Jim Warren of Calhoun, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Emma Keith of Dalton, Ann and Glenn Mallett of Chatsworth, Robbie and Mike Parsons of Dalton and Starr and Truman Whaley of Dalton; grandchildren, Chris and Stacie Carlock, Spencer and April Carlock, Brittany and Mike Belote, Andrew and Gita Brown; step grandchildren, Jay and Aimee Warren, Lane and Dixie Warren; great-grandchildren, McCall Carlock, Coty Carlock, Alexus Carlock, Lily Belote; step great-grandchildren, Brandon Warren, Brodie Warren, Marley Warren and Lyla Warren; special nieces and nephew, Tammy Callahan Vaughn, Terry Callahan and Teresa Penland;other nieces and nephews; special friends, Gayle Parks and Leonard and Kathy Stanley.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 pm in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Lee and Rev. Brad Bailey officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Monday from 5 to 9 pm.
