Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Cansler, 52, of Dalton went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 14, 2014 while celebrating thirty years of marriage in Rome, Italy, with his bride, Jana Cansler. Tommy attended Central High school in Macon, Georgia and also attended Macon State College.
Born in Greesboro, North Carolina, Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Stroud Cansler, SR. and is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jana Howells Cansler; daughters, Taylor Womack (Chase Womack), Catherine Cansler, Gracie Cansler; his mother, Martha Rollins Cansler; and his siblings, Tina Clark, Sharon Veal, and Andrew Cansler.
Tommy loved the Lord first and foremost, and his wife and daughters second. He was an active member at Rock Bridge Community Church, sole owner and founder of Fabric Sources International and Generation Green Recycling, leader of a Rockbridge couples home group, and attended the Kardia bible study. He loved all things outdoors, which included riding his bicycle with Jana and the Dalton Area Cyclists, casting a line on Watts Bar Lake, and hunting with his brother and friends. Tommy served on the board for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, was president of the Home Owners Association for Hammond Creek, and a member of the Dalton Georgia Country Club. Tommy truly was a man of faith and great character, with love in his heart for anyone he knew.
A celebration service of Tommy’s life will be held at Rock Bridge Community Church in Dalton Georgia, on Friday, July 18th 2014 at 2 PM. with the Rev. Matt Evans and Mr. Johnny Morton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the 123 Building of Rock Bridge. All friends and family are invited.
