Ms. Claire King, 68, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late, George Prentiss and Avis Jackson King and was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Dickerson, Gussie Gray Jackson and George C. and Mariah H. King and her sister, Jane King Parks all of Dalton. She was a graduate of Dalton High School and the University of Georgia.
Claire was the owner and operator of Elite Design for 45 years, providing expert interior design to many homes in Dalton.
She was a lifelong member of the Dalton First United Methodist Church.
Claire is survived by her nephew and nieces, Claire Parks Count and her husband, Kraig of Marietta, GA., Patrick Parks and his wife, Junge of Alpharetta, GA. and Caroline Parks Jackson of Dalton; great-nieces and great-nephews, Gray Lawson and David Anderson Jackson of Dalton, Ian Robert Count of Marietta, Ava Nie Parks and Jane Nie Parks of Alpharetta;
brother-in-law, Walter Parks of Dalton; numerous cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Robin Lindsey officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Atrium of the Church Saturday from 1p.m. til the services at 2 p.m.
