Mr. Malcolm T. Silvers, 84, of Dalton passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at his residence.
He was the owner of several trucking companies and was a longtime member of the Central Church of Christ. His trademark was having his name “Silvers” landscaped in the yard of his home. He never met a stranger.
Malcolm was the son of the late Thomas Silvers and Robbie Stanfield Silvers and was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Silvers in 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Cox Silvers of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Patti Silvers of Ringgold; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Sara Silvers of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Mitchell Silvers of Ringgold, Sephana and Shay Crawford of Memphis, TN; step-children, Jane and Gary Schneck of Dalton, John and Tammy Cox of Dalton and Robert D. Cox Jr. of Ooltewah, TN; several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Central Church of Christ with Ronnie Missildine officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 3 on Monday at the church.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and memorials made to the Central Church of Christ Building Fund, P.O. Box 1201 Dalton, GA 30722-1201.
