Ila Jo Tice

Mrs. Ila Jo Tice, 71, of Rocky Face, GA., died Monday, September 15, 2008 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was born in LaGrange, Ga.., daughter of the late Claude and Ila Jo
Daniel.
She was a member of the Dalton First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for a number of years; she was a Red Cross volunteer at Hamilton Medical Center for 30 years; was a member of the Gourmet Garden Club for which she served as president; served on the board of the American Cancer Society and was active in facilitating the major fund raiser of the Golden Ball; served on the Board of Directors of Friendship House and was a charter member of the Dalton Cotillion Board.
Ila Jo is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, John Tice of Rocky Face; son, David Tice of Dalton; daughter, Melissa Tice Gill and her children, Ty and Lily Gill of Euliss, TX.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy Daniel Mahaffey and Tom of LaGrange, Ga., Diane Daniel Mahaffey of Avondale Estates and Marie Daniel Hardy and Dan of Sandy Springs, Ga.;
nieces and nephews, Ila Jo Mahaffey Worthen and husband, Thacher; Tommy Mahaffey, Jr. and wife, Margarita; Danny Mahaffey; Matthew Mahaffey and wife, Susan; Lee Mahaffey Steinour and husband, Sean; Jim Mahaffey; Dan Hardy, Jr.; Ann Hardy Marriaga and husband, Charlie; and Laura Hardy Campbell and husband, Clint.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at Noon from the First Baptist Church of Dalton with the Dr. Bill Wilson, the Dr. Billy Nimmons, the Rev. Larry Flanagan and the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating.
The family will receive friends in the atrium of the church Thursday from 10:00 until the funeral hour at Noon.
