Mrs. Louise Barron Gentry, 79, of Dalton passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Tommy Lee.
Louise was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly. She loved fall leaves, spending time with her family, sunrises, sunsets, flowers, birds, cooking and doing for others.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ollen Gentry; five sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and LaVonda, Steve and Joy, Tony, Bruce and Angela, Dylan and Marrene; grandchildren, Tonder, Heath, Jamie, Brad, Kristy, Brandy, Jeramy, Joshua, Jordan, Jacob, Jenna, Levi and Luke; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Zachary, Taylor, Tucker, Logan, Brady, Chase, Mason and Griffin; brothers, Herbert, Rembert and Tommy Barron; several nieces and nephews; four special sisters-in-law, Dorothy Satcher, Myra Teems, Magdaline Brookshire and Betty Gentry; brothers-in-law, Weldon and Pete Gentry; special friends, Florene Gentry, Evelyn Roberts, Linda Wells, Mary Hall and Delana Carson; numerous friends and church family.
The family would like to say a special thank you to staff at Heartlite Hospice for their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at The Church of God of the Union Assembly with the Rev. Charlie Pratt, the Rev. Stoney Kiser, the Rev. Dale Brewer, the Rev. Lonnie Starnes and the Rev. Trey Starnes officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Saturday after 5 p.m. and Louise will lie in state on Sunday at the church from 1 to 3 p.m.
