Mr. John Wade Lewallen Sr., 74, of Dalton passed away peacefully Monday, January 9, 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Lewallen; brother, Ronald Lewallen; step-daughter, Pam Holt and step-son, Wayne Holt.

Wade was loved and remembered by his loving family and friends as a loving father and husband. He spent many years of his life in law enforcement here in Dalton and served six years in the National Guard. He enjoyed working with Gene Rogers Construction and his hobbies included hunting and word working. He was a member of the Dalton Masonic Lodge #105 F & AM.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Geraldine “Geri” Lewallen; mother, Nell Lewallen; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Donna Lewallen; sister, Faye Martin; sons and daughters-in-law, Wade and Ellen Lewallen, Eric and Traci Lewallen all of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Gentery Sebastian of Calhoun; step-children, David and Wanda Holt of Ringgold, Donna Holt of Resaca and Sherry Holt of Dalton; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would like to say thank you to Hamilton Medical Center and Hamilton Hospice and all his caregivers.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Dr. Robin Lindsey and the Rev. Kenny Otts officiating.

Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
