Mary Nell Smith

Mrs. Mary Nell Joyce Smith, 82, of Port Orange, FL, and formerly of Dalton, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange, FL.

She was the daughter of the late, Claude and Maybell Joyce and was preceded in death by her husband, George W. “Cotton” Smith; grandparents, Luther and Mae Joyce and Edd and Minnie Pritchard; brothers, James, Leonard, Troy and Herbert Joyce and a niece, Crista Joyce.

Mary Nell is survived by her son, Dan Smith of Daytona Beach Shores, FL; sisters, Patsy Faucett of Daytona Beach Shores and Betty Peitso of Dalton; grandchildren, Holli Jones, Danny and Karen Smith all of Dalton and Elliot Smith of Daytona Beach Shores; great-grandchildren, Stephen, Chas and Hardy Jones, Landon and Molly Smith all of Dalton; 19 nieces and nephews; special cousin, Barbara Combs of Dalton; longtime special friend, Elaine Manning of Daytona Beach Shores; many, many friends who loved her.

At Mary Nell’s request there will be no services.

The family will receive friends Friday at Love Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar, Tr. Port Orange, FL 32129.
