Mr. William A. “Bill” Morgan, Sr., of Dalton, Ga. and formerly of Ringgold, Ga., died Friday, January 27, 2006.
He was born October 27, 1918 in Chattanooga, Tn., son of the late Murl Freeman Morgan and Rose Steinmann Morgan.
He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WW II and retired from the 181st Artillery Division of the Chattanooga National Guard. He also retired from South Central Bell in 1981 after 44 years of service.
An active member of the First Baptist Church of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga. for 40 years and a member of the Ft. Oglethorpe Kiwanis Club.
He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Trinity Amaris Morgan.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna Louise Morgan of Dalton.
Son and Daughter-in-law, Bill and Rita Morgan of Dalton; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Sandra and Bill Nichols of Clarksville, Tn., Tish and Allan Sitton of Dalton.
Grandchildren; Shannon James, B.J. Nichols, Nicole White; Great-Grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley, Hayley, Jake, Christian and Avery; Sisters, Helen Westbrook and Aline Fritz of Chattanooga.
Services will be Monday at 11 A.M. at the Dalton First Baptist Church with The
Rev. Bill Wilson and The Rev. Larry Flanagan officiating.
Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Gardens in Catoosa County.
The family will receive friends at the Love Funeral Home Sunday from 3 to 6 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the First Baptist
Church, P.O. Box 827, Dalton, Ga. 30722-0827 or to Hamilton Hospice, P.O.
Box 1168, Dalton, Ga. 30722-1168.
